In celebration of Oregon Wine Month, join sommelier Kelsey Glasser, owner of Arden restaurant, for a series of interactive wine classes designed to arm you with the tools to enjoy wine with confidence!
The world of wine can often feel alienating, confusing and cost-prohibitive. It’s hard to know where to start. This series will offer not only the fundamental skills to speak the language of wine, but also practical tips to navigate buying and pairing wine with confidence.
Sundays at 2pm. Each class is 90 min long. Please note that these events are in-person, not virtual!
Ticket price includes instruction, five wine flight and wine snacks.

May 7th - TASTING WINE
Ever dream of walking into a dinner party, being handed a glass of wine, taking one sniff and then cooly nailing the varietal, vintage, region and producer of the bottle? We can’t promise to get you there in one afternoon, but we can teach you the fundamentals of how blind tasting works. Join Kelsey as she breaks down the basics of tasting - from sight to smell to taste. You’ll be stunned by how approachable the process is!
May 14th - PAIRING WINE
We all know that wine enhances a great meal, but the why and how of what pairs well together can feel elusive. Join Kelsey to learn some insider tips on how to pair wine like a pro. We will discuss different strategies, including pairing by the sauce vs the protein, and pairing to the food vs the bottle. We’ll also share some of the most quintessential pairings and why they work well.
May 21st - MAKING WINE
We can all appreciate the finished product of a delicious bottle of wine, but many of us don’t actually know what goes into the process of making it. Join Kelsey alongside local winemaker Grant Coulter (Flaneur, Hundred Suns) as they break down the science of winemaking in a fun and approachable manner. We’ll explain the magic of fermentation and discuss how decisions in the cellar affect the finished product.
May 28th - FINDING WINE
There’s nothing more frustrating than enjoying a wine but not being able to articulate why you like it and, even more, not being able to find that perfect bottle on a list or shelf. Join Kelsey alongside wine expert Sergio Lycia (Flor Wines) to learn how to define your own likes and dislikes, and how to communicate these to a server, sommelier or retail associate. We’ll discuss easy hacks for decoding labels and share some simple wine ‘lingo’ to help communicate your desires.
